Becoming a Better Teacher: What My Students Taught Me This Semester

Recently, I was delighted to learn that I received 5.0/5.0 in the International Trade course for the Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and 4.9/5.0 in Macroeconomics for the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, according to students’ surveys at Universidad Europea. Together with my other courses, my average student evaluation for the second semester was 4.7/5.0.

This result is particularly meaningful to me. In the first semester of this academic year, my average evaluation was 3.8/5.0. Reflecting on the feedback, I realized that I had probably overloaded my students with too much content. During the second semester, I redesigned my teaching methodology while remaining committed to one core principle: students should learn not only through theoretical knowledge but also through practical simulations, discussions, and active participation. The improvement in the results confirms that this approach was the right one.

I believe that this is a remarkable achievement, especially considering that I faced several personal challenges during the academic year. Despite those difficulties, I remained focused on becoming the best teacher I could be, and I am grateful that my students recognized that effort.

I have been teaching full-time since 2022, and my passion for teaching has never faded—even during the most challenging periods of my life. Every semester reminds me that great teaching is not only about transmitting knowledge but also about continuously learning, improving, and inspiring the next generation.

I want to thank all my students for their trust, feedback, and support. You motivate me to become a better educator every day.
